The best experience I've ever had.

For me, I feel my best experience is not something as instant as winning a championship game. But something more long term,as years drifting by. During one of Colorado's infamous snow storms, my mother and father had a conversation toying with the idea of moving. With my fathers career he had the option of moving to a small island in the Pacific Ocean called Guam. The tiny tropical paradise sounded so appealing to them, that my father went into work later that week announcing his decision. About the same time I was five years of age, our family moved to the little isle in the middle of the ocean. The first year of living on Guam was quite the culture shock, but we quickly adjusted to the easy-going, slow paced way of life and began to really love our newly found home. As we began living there for some time we started to travel all around the Western Hemisphere. As a result of being allowed to visit other islands and countries almost single handily explains why living on Guam was one of the best experiences of my life. Being able to travel to other places really helps you to realize and remember that there are worlds other than your own. I feel the experience showed me how the world works and broadens ones horizon's. Having the privilege of being surrounded by all walks of life helped build my ability to talk to all sorts of people, but most importantly put me in siuations most people havnt had. However that isn't the only reason why living in the Pacific helped make who I am today. One of the pleasures of living on a less inhabitated location is you still have most of the natural land avalible, and can really appreciate the simpleness of life. It's something all people feel while neighboring the Equator, something the locals call "Island Fever". The symptoms include lazyness, slowness of general pace, and frequently losing track of time but after catching the bug you begin to feel completly relaxed and content with it. Although living on an island may be exceadingly unefficiant, corrupt, and slow paced it is also a place where everyone is friendly and whilling to lend a helping hand. It's also where I feel most comfortable and at peace with myself.
